Before you start to install RedSun SPListTreeViewEx Web Part, please follow these guidelines to ensure a successful installation:

  1. Verify that your SharePoint Server is running SharePoint Foundation 2010 /SharePoint Server 2010, or SharePoint Foundation 2013 /SharePoint Server 2013, or SharePoint Server 2016.
  2. Confirm you have administrative access privileges to your SharePoint server. Note: If your Permission Level is “Full Control” with “Limited Access”, the Web Part will be installed successfully but some of its functionalities will be disabled. For more details, please refer to “Troubleshooting” in this guide.
  3. Backup you system.

Also, you must make sure that the following services are enabled and  running on your SharePoint Server:

  • The SharePoint Administration service V4 (SPAdminV4)
  • The SharePoint Timer services V4 (SPTimerV4)

To check and change the status of the services, please verify that you is a member of the Administrators group on the SharePoint server. And click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Services.

A quick way to start the services (even thought they already started)

Open a Command Prompt window, type the following command at the command prompt, and then press ENTER:

  • net start spadminv4
  • net start sptimerv4
